Steve Hogg’s Cleat Wedges

Foot correction is vital for increasing performance and minimising the tendency for overuse injuries; particularly knee injuries.  Correcting alignment by wedging will improve knee tracking and give you more pleasure and performance when cycling.  Wedges are available in two styles depending on your brand of road pedals.  Each package includes six wedges with the necessary bolts and instructions.

They are available in three varieties:

Universal 3-Bolt: These are designed as a universal 1- and 2-degree wedge for 3-bolt cleats. The outline suits Shimano road cleats and there are cut lines to trim them for Look Keo cleats. With minor modification, they will work on any other 3=bolt cleat. Our 2-degree wedges are a more secure and cost effective option when multiple cleat wedges are required. Supplied with extra length fixing screws.

Speedplay: These 1-degree wedges are compatible with all past and present Speedplay road cleats and are supplied with extra length fixing screws.

MTB: These are 1-degree cleat wedges for use with Spd cleats. They work well with many other 2-bolt systems as well. The directional arrow is meant to face the front of the shoe. It is best practice to use only a single cleat wedge with MTB cleats. MTB cleats rely on projections on the underside of the cleat biting into the shoe sole for security. Using a single wedge will not affect this but using two or more will. For those requiring multiple cleat wedges it is best practice to use In Shoe Wedges in addition to a single cleat wedge which is offered as an option to purchase together.
